Mr. Jackson's 6th Grade Civics & 7th Grade World Geography Classes

Classroom Rules

All students will adhere to the rules of the class.  Students will get one warning before various other disciplinary actions are considered.

1.   Be respectful, polite, and good-humored at all times; try to remember that bad moods and bad attitudes are contagious; you wouldn't want Mr. Jackson to catch your bad attitude would you?

2.   All work is due on the due date. Late work of the current quarter will be accepted.  No work from previous quarters will be accepted. 

3.    No talking during instruction period, videos, guest speakers or
teacher/student presentations. Raise your hand if you would like to speak.  Raise your index finger if you would like permission to use the restroom.


4.   If you need a hall pass for a not so serious situation, ask me for one.  DO NOT GET UP AND LEAVE THE ROOM!!! If you are caught going to other rooms or in the hallway your privileges for having a hall pass will be terminated.  THIS IS YOUR ONLY WARNING!

5.   No cheating or plagarism of any kind.  I will be checking all of your essays, papers and homework against this.  This is an automatic zero and possible grounds for a written referral.

6.   Unlike the constitution of our great nation “This is NOT a democracy.  I AM THE LAW, i.e., the judge, the jury, and the baliff!”

7.   NO CELL PHONES!!! NO CELL PHONES!!! NO CELL PHONES!!! and oh yeah... NO CELL PHONES!!!

8. KEEP THE RESTROOM CLEAN AT ALL TIMES!!! WASH YOUR HANDS EVERYTIME!!!

 

Classroom Consequences:

Consequences for serious problems are as follows:

 

First offense:           Verbal warning

Second offense:      After School Detention (to be served in my room)

Third offense:         Parent/Teacher/Student conference

Forth offense:         Conference with Counselor, Parent, Teacher, and                                 Student to set up a behavior modification plan.

Fifth offense:          Written referral
